The Ash Grove High School softball team began their 2023 post season play on Friday, May 5, at Fair Grove shutting out Pleasant Hope 4-0 in an opening round Class 2, District 7 tournament game.

The Republic girls track team squeaked out a team championship at the Nixa Invitational track meet. The Lady Tigers earned 128 points as a team, beating Nixa (117), Kickapoo (102), and Ozark (95) and the rest of the 12-team field.

Zion Allen earned medals in the long jump and the high jump, and Cooper Douglas set a Republic record in the javelin toss during the Hillcrest Invitational in Springfield.

Republic distance runner Gracie Troester won three medals and broke a school record to lead the Lady Tigers at the Girls Night Out track meet in Springfield. Running at JFK Stadium, Troester finished second in both the 1600-meter and 3200-meter races.
