Ash Grove High School track athletes take part in Class 2 state track over weekend

The final high school sport ended for Ash Grove as their track team took part in the Class 2, state track meet in Jefferson City on Friday, May 17, and Saturday, May 18.
The Lady Pirates sent seven athletes, who competed in
five events, while Ash Grove only sent one male athlete to the state competition.
Emma Eagleburger was the top finisher for the Lady Pirates at the state track meet, as she finished in fifth place with a toss of 35.75 feet in the shot put. Briley Bagley finished in 16th place in the long jump with a leap
of 14.75 feet. Allison Duncan finished in 11th place in the javelin with a throw of 99.6 feet.
The Lady Pirates also sent two relay teams to the state track meet, as the 4X400 relay team of Kylynn Thomp- son, Olivia Baker, Alyssa Stevens and Bagley finished in seventh place with a time
of 4:20.17. The 4X800 relay team, consisting of Halie Vaughn, Duncan, Thompson and Bagley finished in 10th place with a time of 10:44.75.
William Wheeler was the lone Pirate representative at the state track meet, finishing in 15th place in the shot put with a toss of 40.11 feet.
