Ash Grove Pirate football shuts out host Pleasant Hope with lopsided victory

The Ash Grove High School football and volleyball teams were both in action last week coming home with wins.
In football, the Pirates traveled to Pleasant Hope on Friday, Sept. 13 and came home with a 52-0 win.
Parker Crow led Ash Grove with 176 total yards and a touchdown; Tristan Bowers had 108 total yards and a touchdown and Will Lanter finished the night with 100 total yards and two touchdowns.
“We had a great night on both sides of the football Fri- day night,” said head coach Ryan Long.
With the win, Ash Grove is now in fifth place in the Class 1, District 2 stand- ings with 36 points. Thayer leads the district with 56.33 points; Miller is in second place with 54.67 points, Pierce City is in third place with 48 points, Cabool has
44.33 points, good enough for fourth place, the Pirates hold fifth place, Marionville is in sixth place with 27 points, Diamond is in seventh place with 25.67 points and Sar- coxie is in eighth place with 18.67 points.
With the win, the Pirates are now 2-1 on the season and will travel to Pierce City this Friday night.
Volleyball
In volleyball, the Lady Pirates knocked off School of the Ozarks in straight sets, 25-23 and 25-15 on Thursday, Sept. 12 at Osage Beach.
Ash Grove traveled to Springfield on Tuesday, Sept. 10 to take on Spring- field Catholic but came home with a two set loss, 21-25 and 17-25.
The Lady Pirates are now 2-2 on the season and will travel to Buffalo tomorrow night and then return to Buffalo on Saturday for the Lady Bison Tournament.
