BARBARA ANN DORMAN

Barbara Ann Dorman, 85, of Willard passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023. Born on Sept. 23, 1937, to Carl and Pauline (Bergman) Putzka. On July 19, 1965 she married her beloved husband of 58 years, Wirt Dorman.
She graduated from Texas Women’s University with a bachelor’s degree in education. Dorman enjoyed a long career of teaching physical education to students in Tyler, Texas, San Diego, Calif., and Auburn, Wash. While in Washington, she started her own cheesecake business, (Barbara’s Cheesecakes). Her business boomed and quickly found herself making cheesecakes for many high-end restaurants across Seattle, including the Space Needle.
Dorman assisted her husband as an associate in his architecture business in Willard.
Dorman is survived by her loving husband, Wirt Dorman; children Harry Dorman, and Julie Bliss; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother Donald Putzka.
Dorman was preceded in death by her parents, brother Russell Putzka, and daughter Carol Smith.
There will be a visitation open to all who knew Dorman from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home in Ash Grove.
