Barbara Jean Batson

Barbara Jean Batson, 88, of Pierce City, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020 while at Cox South Hospital in Springfield. She was born in Wentworth on Sept. 12, 1931; the daughter of the late Elva and Stella (Taylor) Riddle. She was united in marriage on June 15, 1988 in Miami, Okla. to Frank Batson; he preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 2007.
She was retired from Tyson’s in Monett and was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Batson is survived by two sons: Roy Burch of Jerico Springs, and Russel Burch of Pierce City; four daughters: Beverly Kinchelor of Billings, Patricia Parker of Ash Grove, Vicki Nelson of Monett, and Cathy Mishler of Monett; two brothers: Richard Riddle of Holt, and Ronnie Riddle of Carterville, one sister, Sharon Woods of Terresita, 25 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Elva and Stella; her husband Frank; one daughter: Brenda DeClue and her siblings: Catherine Marzelle, James William Elvis, Florence Irene, Doyle Glen, James Leroy, Rosella Mae, Jerry Denis, Sharon Kaye, Joyce Darlen and Helen Roberta.
Graveside services for Batson were Monday April 6, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Moore Cemetery in Stotts City. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett.
