Bettie Jane Wise

Bettie Jane (Carden) Wise, 91, of Springfield, passed away July 19 at Cox Medical Center following a short illness. She was born Sept. 6, 1930 near Walnut Grove, to George A. Carden, Sr. and Helene (Pollack) Carden. On April 7, 1950 she was united in marriage to Norman Wise. She retired from Cox Health Systems as a secretary in the nursing administrative office. She served as a pianist and organist in several local Southern Baptist churches. She was currently a member of Golden Harvest Baptist Church.
Preceding Wise in death were her parents, a brother, and husband. Survivors include daughter Norma Tummons and her husband Joe of Springfield; son Ron Wise and his wife Kim, of Springfield, three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, one step grandson, six step-great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation was from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, July 24, and the funeral service was at 10 a.m. July 25, at Greenlawn East, 3540E. Seminole, Springfield, with interment following in Frazier Cemetery west of Nixa.
