Charles Lewis Jenkins,

Charles Lewis Jenkins, 88, of Mt. Vernon passed away Dec. 5, 2018, 6:33 a.m. at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. He was born March 13, 1930, in Crane, and was the son of James Lewis and Olive Florence (Nelson) Jenkins, who preceded him in death.
He married Beverly A. Daum of Clever, on Oct. 26, 1957, who survives him. Other survivors include sons, Randall and GinnaGayle Daum of Clever; Roger and Brenda Jenkins of Aurora; Greg and Teresa Jenkins of Pierce City, and Barth and Brooke Jenkins of Mt. Vernon, as well as eight grandkids, eight great-grandkids and other relatives.
Jenkins was a member of the Christian Church of Clever.
Visitation was from 1-2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, with the memorial service beginning at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church at 305 N. Main Avenue, Republic, under the direction of Meadors Funeral Home. Online condolences may be shared on this website at www.meadorsfuneralhome.com.
