Darrel Dean Hukriede

Darrel Dean Hukriede, 79, of Republic, passed away on Oct. 28, 2018, surrounded by the love of his family at the Republic Nursing and Rehab Home.
Hukriede was born in Purdy to William and Leora Hukriede on Jan. 16, 1939. He graduated from Purdy High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He proudly served and retired after 22 years of service.
Hukriede enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards and cutting firewood, but what he loved most was teasing and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nancy Carol Hukriede; his sister, Rosalie (Bill) Gray; his children, Terry (Julie) Hukriede, Susan (Kelvin) Shaw, and Denise (Brad) Anderson; his beloved grandchildren, Megan (John) Engle, Katelyn (Derek) Milberg, Daniel (Lisa) Shaw, Taylor Anderson, and Alyson Shaw; and four great-grandchildren.
Hukriede was preceded in death by his parents, William and Leora Hukriede; a brother, Carl; and a sister, Lorena.
