Dean Holliday

Dean Holliday, 81, passed away July 4, 2019.
Holliday was born Aug. 5, 1937 in Amherst, Neb., where he lived and worked on his family farm. He graduated from Amherst High School in 1954 and Kearney State College in 1958. He married Barbara Clark after graduation in 1958, and
moved to Lincoln, Neb., to start his professional career as a shop teacher. He later moved on to more technical fields. His jobs included being an instrument technician at a nuclear power plant, medical equipment sales to hospitals, communication equipment sales and finally he was self-employed in the early years of satellite television. They lived in vari- ous places but spent the most time in Kansas City, Omaha, Neb., and Halltown.
Holliday became a private pilot and soloed on his second wedding anniversary. He owned several air- planes throughout his life and was blessed to be able to fly extensively across the U.S. as part of his job.
Holliday was preceded in death by his parents George and Iva Holliday and is survived by his wife Barbara, and children Cherie Snavely and Brad Holliday, his grandson Luke Holliday, and great-grandsons Luca & Milo Holliday.
A visitation will be held at 10 a.m., with the funeral service at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. In lieu of flowers, do- nations may be made to: Freedom for Liberty (a medical fund for his great niece), at ABC Bank, 323 S. Grand, Cherokee, OK 73728.
