Dee Evans Dowler

Dee Evans Dowler, 72, of Ash Grove, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018.
Dowler was born on July 15, 1946, to Howard H. and Clara (Smotherman) Dowler, in Springfield. On Sept. 18, 1999, Dee and Linda Fletcher were united in marriage, they shared over 19 years together.
Dowler was born and raised in the Walnut Grove area. After graduating from Walnut Grove High School, he went into the United States Air Force and faithfully served his country during the Vietnam War. Dowler was an active member of Walnut Grove Non-Denominational Community Church. He was a lay speaker in the church and helped with the backpack ministry. Dowler was also an active member of the O’Sullivan Lodge #7. He felt that community involvement was important and served on many boards such as: Greene Lawn Cemetery Board, State of Missouri Masonic Home, and Walnut Grove Alumni, where he served as vice-president.
Dowler is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; children, Becky Petras and husband Shawn of Nebraska, Joseph Dowler Sr. and wife Cassandra of Greenfield, Richard Sartin and wife Ann of California, Roy Sartin of Ash Grove, Rita Sartin and Stacy Morris of Everton, Russell Blanton of Texas, Debra Nedeau and husband Don of Colorado; 27 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Laura Ellis and husband Homer; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.  
Dowler was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Sonny Dowler.
Masonic Services were Monday, Nov. 26, at 6 p.m. at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove. Visitation began immediately followed the Masonic Services and concluding at 8 p.m. Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at the funeral home, with burial following at Greene Lawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove.
