Distance medley team second; Scar brings home four medals

The distance medley team of Destiny Scar, Kenna Lundy, Rachel Scheel and Sadie Marnin captured second place at the state track meet.

Nodaway Valley’s distance medley team of Sadie Marnin, Rachel Scheel, Kenna Lundy and Destiny Scar came home with a silver medal in hand from the state track meet.  The foursome crossed in 4:19.33.

Scar was also the center of attention with three individual medals at the three-day event held at Drake Stadium.  Scar was in the lead group for most of the race in the 3000m run last Thursday, before fading to a fifth place finish with a time of 11:31.54.  Scar grabbed two medals on Saturday.  She finished eighth in the 800m run in 2:26.41 and grabbed another eighth place medal in the 1500m run, crossing in 5:12.17.

Marnin finished 16th in the 100m prelims, finishing with a time of 13.60.  Lundy was 11th in the 200m prelims, finishing in a time of 27.18.

NV finished tied for 20th in the team standings with Logan-Magnolia with 14 points.
