DONALD “DON/DONNY” RAY WALCHER

Donald (Don/Donny) Ray Walcher, 60, of Republic passed away due to a short illness on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023. He was born July 14, 1963, to Joe and Sharon (Kay) Walcher in Neosho.
He grew up on a family farm in Rocky Comfort. He was a graduate of McDonald County High School and became a first-generation student at Crowder College where he attended on a baseball scholarship for his associates and transferred to Missouri Southern for his bachelor's degree. After graduation, he joined the United States Army, served one term, and earned his Master's.
He married his college sweetheart Stephanie on Christmas morning 1985 in Miami, Okla. He worked for Roadway Trucking before being recruited to Prime Trucking where he worked for the last 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Stephanie; parents; children, Stephen, Joey, and Lacee Walcher; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, Dec. 10, at   Oasis Hotel and Convention Center in Springfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his surviving family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield.
