DONNIE LEE CAIN

Donnie Lee Cain, Sr., 86, of Republic, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019, in the Maple Wood Alzheimer Special Care Center, Springfield. He was born a child of 14 siblings, on
Feb. 4, 1933, in Coin, Iowa, the son of Clyde Earl and Jemima Ellen (Roberts) Cain.
Cain was united in marriage to Barbara Roberts on Jan. 9, 1956.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy, beginning in 1957, and retiring in 1972.
He loved to gamble; loved to be tinkering in his shop; and loved to play the banjo, guitar, and fiddle.
Donnie was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Barbara; a son, Robert Bruce Cain; two grandchildren; and 12 siblings.
He is survived by four children, Donnie Jr. (Mar- lene), David (Vickie), Jonnie` (Kevin), and Ellen; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other extended family and friends.
A graveside service, with military honors, was held at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 25, 2019 in Evergreen Cem- etery, Republic, under the direction of Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. Family and friends may share online condolences at www.meadorsfuneralhome.com.
