Zion Allen earned medals in the long jump and the high jump, and Cooper Douglas set a Republic record in the javelin toss during the Hillcrest Invitational in Springfield.
Douglas’s javelin distance was 48.41 meters, less than an inch behind the event winner. His toss also broke the record set by Avery Moody last year.
Allen finished second in the high jump, only about two inches behind Ozark’s Peyton Ligon, who won the event. Allen also finished fourth in the long jump.
Brady Purcell medaled with a sixth-place finish in the 3200-meter run. Purcell also joined William Payne, Joey Mullins, and Aslan Ebisch on the 4x800-meter relay team that finished sixth.
