Eldor Vernon Von Stroh

Eldor Vernon Von Stroh, 85, of Republic, passed away with family at his side on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, in Sonshine Manor, Republic. He was born May 22, 1933, in Golden City, the son of the late Walter Martin and Adelia Louise (Sitz) Von Stroh.
He served his country in the U.S. Army.
Van Stroh was united in marriage to Shirley Ruth Taylor on Dec. 8, 1957, and were blessed with almost 57 years together before Ruth passed away on Aug. 7, 2014.
He was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Republic. Von Stroh farmed on his own land, and later was employed as a truck driver for Taylors Quarry. 

Von Stroh is survived by his three children, Monte Von Stroh, Michael Von Stroh, and Jackie Von Stroh; a sister, Anne Rader Thurman; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Dixie Taylor; nieces and nephews; and many other extended family and friends.
A visitation was from 10-11 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. Immediately following the visitation, a graveside service, with military honors, was in Evergreen Cemetery, Republic. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hope Lutheran Church. Family and friends may share online condolences at www.meadorsfuneralhome.com.
