GLENN WILLIAM MIEKLEY

Glenn William Miekley, 87, of Clever passed away on Feb. 13. He was born in Clever on Nov. 15, 1935. He was one of four sons born to Alfred and Lydia (Schuch) Miekley.
He graduated from Clever High School in 1953 and served as a seargent in the Missouri National Guard.
Miekley was united in marriage to Carolene (Ottendorf) Miekley at the First Baptist Church of Clever on Sept. 2, 1956, who preceded him in death in 2006 after 50 years of marriage. Together they co-owned and operated G&C Dairy/Beef Farms and when time would allow, they liked to travel.
He was a deacon, Sunday School Teacher and lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Clever. He also served on numerous community, road-district, and cemetery boards throughout his lifetime.
He is survived by one brother Don Miekley and spouse Frankie of Springfield; daughters, Glenda Wampler of Republic, Debbie and spouse James Gardner of Clever; five grandchildren; three great-grandsons, five great-granddaughters and many other family and friends.
Miekley was also preceded in death by parents; brothers Gene (Doc) Miekley and Leslie (Les) Miekley and son-in-law Rick Wampler.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Feb. 16, at Meadors Funeral Home in Clever. Funeral services were at the First Baptist Church in Clever on Friday, Feb. 17. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery immediately following the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Clever.
