GREGORY “GREG” MASON DOLLENS

Gregory “Greg” Mason Dollens, 63, of Springfield passed away from Long COVID Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024. He was born Aug. 8, 1961, to Robert and Rhonda Dollens in Mexico, Mo.
Greg graduated from Mexico High School in 1979. He then attended college at Southwest Missouri State University, now Missouri State University, where he received an associate’s degree in marketing.
After decades as a professional glass glazier, Greg retired from Builders Glass in Springfield in 2018.
During his career, he also balanced fatherhood and being an active member of the community; including leadership roles at Bois D’Arc United Methodist Church and the Ash Grove Board of Education.
Greg was an avid outdoorsman—camper, hunter and fisherman. He delighted in nature as often as the opportunity arose; generously sharing his harvest with others.
Greg was a hardworking goer with a zest for life. He loved to smile and he loved to laugh with a big voice.
His heart on his sleeve, he shot straight. While he never met a stranger, he also unapologetically suffered no fools.
In recent years, Greg found a religious home at Sac River Cowboy Church at Springfield Livestock Marketing Center where he made many friends.
A true conversationalist, Greg did not lead an unexamined life. He examined. Deeply Christian, he was at peace with his future. “I’ve led a good life. I have no complaints.” He resolutely found solace in the belief he’d see us all again.
Greg is survived by his wife, Kristy Dollens, whom he often and lovingly referred to as his Special K; daughter, Meagan Dollens and Adam Presley of Springfield; son, Trey Dollens and wife, Kerry and their children, Kaisley, Asher and Gunner of Bolivar; son, Tanner Dollens and his daughter, Alyaa of Battlefield; brother, Gary Dollens of Springfield; mother, Rhonda Dollens of Strafford; best friend, Rick McVicker of Bevier; and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Dollens.
Details of a celebration of life are to be determined.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield.
