Gregory Hosman

Gregory Douglas “Doug” Hosman, 65 of Walnut Grove died Thursday, June 18, 2020, suddenly at his home in Walnut Grove. Hosman was born on Oct. 6,1954 in Chula Vista, Calif. to Dink and Sybil Hosman. He moved to the Willard area at a young age and grew up there. Hosman was a dairy farmer for several years and a former employee of MaysOil Company. His true passion was farming and there was nothing more gratifying to him than caring for his herd and cutting a full stand of alfalfa. Hosman married Fran Creed on Sept. 4, 1995 and they shared 25 great years together. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Hosman was a member of the Walnut Grove Masonic Lodge and Sac River Cowboy Church. Hosman is survived by his wife Fran of the home; daughters, Lorrie Johnson and husband Patrick, Leslie McGee; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Terri Hughes and husband Jimmy all of Walnut Grove, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie “Dink” and Sybil Hosman and brother, Tony Garber. Masonic Services were at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 21, 2020, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, with visitation following until 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Services were at 11 a.m., Monday, June 22, 2020 at Sac River Cowboy Church Event Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Walnut Grove Backpack Program or Walnut Grove Greene Lawn Cemetery.
