Harry Lee Price

Harry Lee Price, 80, of South Greenfield, passed away at 1:39 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. He was born May 15, 1939, in East
St. Louis, Ill., the son of Harry and Elinore (Howerton) Price.
Price was a foreman for the Mon- santo Chemical Company in Sauget, Ill. and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Everton. Price loved woodworking, raising cattle, horseback riding and especially playing his banjo.
On Dec. 3,1994, he married Carolyn Mills, in Miller.
Price is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carolyn; five children, Marilyn Brandes of O’Fallon, Ill., Debra Dufresne and her husband, Richard, of Belleville, Ill., Philip Price and his wife, Diane, of Chester, Ill., Sherry Coleman and her husband, Dillard, of Warrenton, and Bruce Price of Belleville, Ill., two sisters, Mary Louise Jones of Salem, Ill. and Janet Koehne of Caseyville, Ill.; three brothers, Russell Price and his wife, Jean- nie, of Mason, Ill., Carl Price and his wife, Donna, and Randy Price, all of Marine, Ill.; father-in-law, John Mills of Greenfield; brother-in-law, Homer Glenn Ellis and his wife, Laura, of Aurora; four sisters-in-law, Hazel, Cathy, Diana and Kathy; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Price was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Elinore, five brothers, Fred, Charles, James, Harold and Clarence Price and mother-in-law, Genevieve Mills.
A funeral service was 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Burial followed at Ash Grove Cemetery. Visi- tation was from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, in the funeral home chapel.
