Jack G. Race

Jack G. Race, 95, of Willard passed away July 10, 2022. Race was born in Willard, on April 4, 1927, to Horace L. and Beulah K. (Blankenship) Race. On March 31, 1956, Jack and Sybil Mayabb were united in marriage and shared 49 years together, until Sybil’s passing in 2005.
Race graduated from Central High School and faithfully served in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked as a Greyhound bus driver and had many different routes, including the historical Route 66. Race was a 50-plus year member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the American Legion. He loved his farm and the animals on it, especially his mules.
Race is preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Race and daughter, Becky Race.
Race is survived by his children, Steve Race and wife JoAnn, Debbie Paschall and husband Mark; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; other family and many friends.
Visitation was from 1 p.m. until service time, Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove. Funeral services began at 2 p.m., at the funeral home with burial following at Wesley Cemetery, Willard.
