James L. (J.L.) Glass

James L. (J.L.) Glass, 90, of Bois D’Arc, passed away, Monday, Nov. 25, 2019. He was born March 18, 1929, in Ash Grove, to Henry E. and Mary (Brower) Glass. On May 23, 1949, James and June Combs were united in marriage and shared over
70 years together. Glass was a 1948 graduate of Bois
D’Arc. He was a worker and enjoyed farming and wood working. He was faithful to read his Bible every day and was a member of Hillside Baptist Church. He also enjoyed antique cars and taking Model-T road trips with the car club. Above all, he loved being with his family and friends. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
Glass is survived by his wife, June Glass of the home; children, Lisa Edmonds and husband Paul of South Carolina; Kip Glass and wife Jackie of Bois D’Arc; granddaughter Jordan Blackmon and husband Brooks; niece, Susan Taylor and husband Bobby; nephews, Danny Glass and wife Louann, Steven Cotter; other family and many friends.
Glass was preceded in death by his parents; sib- lings, Dwight Glass, Katherine Glass, Henry E. Glass Jr., and Maxine Cotter.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 29, 2019 at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove. Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019 at the funeral home, with burial following in Clear Creek Cemetery, Springfield.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Glass’ name to Hillside Baptist Church and may be left at the funeral home.
