Jerry D. Davis

Jerry D. Davis, 79, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018.
Jerry, the son of William D. and Margaret (Shelton) Davis, was born in Columbus, Ohio, on March 22, 1939. Jerry and Donna (Gomez) were united in marriage on Sept. 9, 1961, they shared 57 years together.
Davis grew up in Tucson and loved the mountains and deserts. He then faithfully served in the United States Air Force serving in Texas, Kansas, California, Philippine Islands, Montana, Vietnam, Louisiana and Alaska retiring in 1979. Jerry then worked for University of Alaska as a landscape artist for 18 years.
Davis and wife Donna then moved to the Bois D’ Arc area in 1999. Davis was a member of the Ozark Garden Railroad Club and enjoyed woodworking.
Davis is survived by his wife, Donna of the home; daughter, Susan Davis and partner Susan Lynch of Alaska; son, Steven Davis and wife Tracy of New Mexico; grandchildren Chris Wasion and wife K’lyn, Christy Ward and husband Gabe, Jennifer VanGundy, John Hamilton; and four great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.  
Davis was preceded in death by his parents; sister, June Pennick; and brother, John Davis.
Visitation was Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, from 10 a.m. until service time at Bois D’Arc United Methodist Church, Bois D’ Arc. Memorial services began at 11 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Davis’ name to Bois D’Arc United Methodist Church and may be left at the church or funeral home.
