Jerry Joe Henson

Jerry Joe Henson was born July 15, 1933 in Brook- line, and passed away on Dec. 16, 2019 at Sonshine Manor after a short illness.
Henson was preceded in death by his parents Delbert Leroy Henson and Eliza Janie Gowers, and a sister Barbara Nell Henson.
Henson is survived by his wife of 67 years Barbara (Kunzler); daugh- ters Angela Salrin of Republic, Sheila Henson Springfield, and Kimberly Cole and husband Darin of Republic. He is also survived by a brother Terry Paul, Sr. and wife Virginia Henson and family of Springfield; and a sis- ter Geraldine and husband Ronnie Wolvine and family of Ohio, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A 1950 graduate of Republic High School, Henson enjoyed hunting fishing, stock car racing and westerns of any form.
Visitation was from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2019 in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic Chapel. Funeral was at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019 also in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic, with burial immediately fol- lowing in Brookline Cemetery, Brookline. The family is requesting memorial contributions in Henson’s honor to American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
