Joe Nyal Tatum

Joe Nyal Tatum, 89, passed away April 3, 2019 in Mercy Hospital in Springfield. He was born Aug. 14, 1929, to Neal Glen and Zoe (Payne) Tatum.
Tatum was employed in law enforcement at the Sheriff’s Department for nearly 20 years. He was a member of numerous saddle clubs and horse show- ing associations. In 1986, he was married to Lenora Elizabeth Cox in Miami, Okla. They enjoyed 33 years together before his beloved wife recently passed away on March 9, 2019.
Survivors: children, Clint (Vicky) Tatum of Reeds Spring, Rex (Teresa) Tatum of Sparta, Lyle (Kelly) Ta- tum of Billings, Kevinb (Donna) Stott of Ozark and Teri (Blevins) of Highlandville; step-sons Howard (Janis) Camron of Galena, Dwight (Sheila) Camron of Clever and Paul (Rita) Camron of Clever; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Others who preceded him in death were: his parents; son, Dan Tatum; brother, Keith Tatum; sister, Yvonne; one grandson; one step-great-granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
The funeral service was at 10 a.m. April 9, 2019, in the Pleasant View Church, 242 Pleasant View Drive, Highlandville, MO 65669, under the direction of Meadors Funeral Home in Republic. Burial followed the service in Flood Cemetery, next to the church. Family and friends may share online condolences at www.meadorsfuneralhome.com.
