John "Jake" Twombly

John “Jake” Twombly, 36, of Urbandale passed away from injuries received from a car accident on May 7, 2016. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory, Urbandale. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Greenfield Cemetery in Greenfield, Iowa, with full military graveside rites.

Jake was born on March 19, 1980, in Caldwell, Kansas, to John Twombly and Cristy Twombly. Jake met his wife, Khamla, in 2004 and they were married on July 23, 2011. Jake was currently employed as a staff sargent technician at Camp Dodge.  Jake was a very hard worker. His job was very important to him. He enjoyed his work very much.  Jake enjoyed polishing and fixing cars, and playing soccer with his son, Evan, and spending time with his family. Jake could accomplish anything he set his mind to. He would do whatever it took to support his family. Jake was a caring and warm person that took care of his family. He was always looking out for their best interest. Jake thrived to do better and to support his family. When he was away on work and business trips, he would always check in with his family to make sure they were okay.

Jake is survived by his wife, Khamla; son Evan Twombly; stepdaughter Annabel; father John Twombly; mother Cristy Twombly; three sisters, Jennifer Borrenpohl, Diane Bacon, Jessica Houseman; two brothers, Matt Twombly and Chris Twombly; and grandmother Marlene Savage.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Arnold Savage, Jacob Twombly, Maryetta Twombly; and father-in-law Khamhoung Saychareun.
