Kimberly (Antisdel) Knapp Walnut, July 24, 2016

Kimberly Jo was born on April 16, 1961 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Gary and Nola Rae (Bengard) Antisdel. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs. Over the years she attended Shepherd of the Valley, First Baptist in Atlantic and Calvary Baptist Church in Walnut, Iowa. She graduated from Bridgewater-Fontanelle High School with the class of 1979. She also attended Stewart’s Cosmetology School for one year.

Kim married Philip Knapp on March 8, 1986 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle, Iowa. They were blessed with three sons: Brandon, Brian and Brock.

Kim loved spending time with her husband, sons and granddaughters. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, humming birds, camping and just about anything that had to do with being outside. She liked reading, crocheting, Willow Tree Angels, crossword puzzles, and word searches.

Kim passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn., having attained the age of 55 years, 3 months and 8 days. Kim was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Ora Bengard and Dean and Lola Antisdel; father-in-law Orville Knapp; mother-in-law Phyllis Knapp; and brother Bill Antisdel.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Philip Knapp of Walnut, Iowa; sons: Brandon Knapp and his significant other Cari Bowers of Friendship, Wisconsin, Brian Knapp and his wife, Taryn, of Portsmouth, Iowa, and Brock and his significant other, Chantel Scheffler, of Exira, Iowa; grandchildren: Olivia, Kyrsten, Jordan, Baylie, Hanna, Kynslee, Maylee, Brylee, baby Knapp and Taya; goddaughter Jenna Ferguson; parents: Gary and Nola Rae Antisdel of Atlantic, Iowa; brothers Mike Antisdel and his wife, Lori, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Barry Antisdel and his wife, Lisa, of Anita, Iowa; sister Cyndi and her husband, Kevin Ferguson, of Atlantic, Iowa; sister-in-law Nancy Antisdel of Greenfield, Iowa; nephews; nieces; close neighbors Brad and Patty Kay and Terry Nieman and numerous friends.

A service celebrating Kim’s life was led by Retired Pastor David Krueger on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca, Iowa. Honorary casket bearers were Kim’s grandchildren and goddaughter. Kim will be laid to rest at Layton Township Cemetery in Walnut at a later date. 

Pauley Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
