Lady Pirates fall to New Covenant at district tournament

The Lady Tigers traveled to Clever on Oct. 22, to take part in the Class 2, District 10 tournament. Ash Grove entered the tournament as the fourth seed but lost to fifth seeded New Covenant Academy in straight sets, 19-25 and 18-25. Strafford ending up winning the district tournament.

“This season has been a strong and challenging season for your varsity volley Pirates as they finished with a 27-6-0 record,” said head coach Diana Dreier. “Some of our monumental moments for the season included, winning the last 18 games of their regular season play before districts, two tournament championships (35th Annual Southwest Tournament Champions and fourth year winning the Pleasant Hope Tournament), and earning the shared title of Tri-Champions in the Southwest Conference with Miller and Sarcoxie. Each member of the 2018 team has more than one thing to be proud of from this season.”
