Larry Grant

Larry Grant, 87, of Ash Grove, passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018.
Grant was born Oct. 4, 1931, to Wilbur Francis and Mary Aileen (Berry) Grant, in Everton. On Sept. 12, 1951, Grant and Helen Fortner were united in marriage, they shared over 67 years together.
Grant was born and raised in the Everton area. After graduation Grant went into the United States Marine Corp and faithfully served his country during the Korean War. He was part of the Frozen Chosin. After his time in the military, he began his 34 year career, at TWA as a maintenance instructor and inspector. Grant was an outdoorsman; he loved camping, fishing and hunting. He worked hard around the house and took pride in his well-maintained yard. Grant was an active member of South Liberty Baptist Church in Liberty.
Grant is survived by his wife, Helen of the home; daughter, Karin Lyons of Kansas City; brothers, Stanley Grant and wife Ruth of Ash Grove, Jim Grant and wife Irma of Kansas City; sisters, Mary Frances Welsh of Alaska, Jane Grant of California; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.  
Grant was preceded in death by brothers, Morris Grant and Bill Wayne Grant.
Visitation was Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, from noon until service time at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove. Funeral services began at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 19, 2018 at the funeral home, with burial following at Ash Grove Cemetery, Ash Grove.
