Leon Evans Edwards

Leon Evans Edwards, Republic, passed away in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, at the age of 77 years, 3 months, and 2 days. He was born in Seymour, the son of Otto and Nadyne Edwards, who
precede him in death. Edwards was a huge Kansas City
Chiefs fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR. In his free time, he also liked riding four wheelers and horses. He worked for Dayco for 23 years, then for Watersmith Irrigation for 20 years.
Edwards is survived by his wife of 47 years, Charla; sons, Rick (Shala) Edwards, of Republic, Jeff Edwards, of Springfield; two sisters, Joann Bishop and Anita Shirkey, both of Springfield; six grandchildren, Peyton Edwards, Kaly Edwards, Brett Edwards, Brittney Edwards, Cory Edwards and Brandon Edwards; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Edwards was from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. Graveside services were at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 4, in Dogwood Cemetery, Seymour. Family and friends may share online condolences at www.meadorsfuner- alhome.com.
