LESLIE "LES" EDWIN TUMMONS

Leslie “Les” Edwin Tummons passed away in his sleep on July 6 at his home in Taft, Texas. He was born on Oct. 27, 1947, to Bill and Joyce Tummons.
He grew up in Walnut Grove and attended school all 12 years, graduating from Walnut Grove High School.
After graduation, he married the love of his life on June 12, 1967 and shortly after getting married, he enlisted in the Army and went to Vietnam. He retired from the army after 25 years of service in 1991, retiring as a 1st Sergeant. He enjoyed working with 4H and FFA.
He is survived by two daughters, Angela (Kevin) and Brandie; one son, Austin (Isabel); 15 grandchildren and another on the way; 2 great-grandchildren and two more on the way.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley; his parents; sisters, Jenny and Sue; and son, Michael.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home in Walnut Grove. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery.
