Linda Louise Akins

Linda Louise Akins, 78 of Springfield passed away Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022 in Republic.
She was born on April 5, 1944 in Springfield to Leonard and Lucille Hoaglin.
She worked for State Farm Insurance Company for 20 years and then in retail after that.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger D. Akins on June 18, 2022 and her sister, Joyce K. (Hoaglin) Bernet.
Akins is survived by her children, Michele (Gilmore) Wilson (Todd) of Abilene, Texas, Curtis Gilmore (Leona ) of Ash Grove,  Chris Akins (Twila) of Springfield, and Courtney (Akins) Fannin (Karl) of Republic; three  grandchildren; sister, Denise Kirby (Waine); brother-in-law, Jerry Bernet and many other friends and family.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022  at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home.  Memorial services will beat 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022  at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery.
