MARGARET CASSITY
Margaret Cassity, 91, of Purdy passed away on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023 while at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield. He was born on Sept. 26, 1932 in Purdy, daughter of the late Joseph and Clara (Jaster) Golubski.
She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Pulaskifield. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where she volunteered her time in several different capacities. She worked for over 18 years at the Pierce City Garment Factory and then for over 45 years at Cox-Monett Hospital.
She married Alvah Cassity on April 5, 1971 in Miami, Okla. and they shared over 50 years of wonderful memories together.
She is survived by her husband, Alvah; her sons, Jason (Tammy) Cassity of Purdy and Aaron (Dawn) Cassity of Mt. Vernon; her step-daughter, Stacy Cassity, of Joplin; two grandchildren, Chase Cassity, of Republic and Cameryn Cassity, of Mt. Vernon; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Visitation and rosary were held on Wednesday, Dec. 6, and Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, Dec. 7, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pulaskifield, with Father Paul Pudhota officiating. Interment followed in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions have been suggested to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church or Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
