Maria Ann Correa

Maria Ann Correa, 52, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022.  She was born May 31, 1969, in Bloomington, Ill., the daughter of John Dean and Ina Marie (Raeuber) Sharpe.

On Dec. 8, 1988, she married Martin Ibarra Correa in Bloomington, Ill. On Jan. 15, 1989, they renewed their vows with his family in Zacatecas, Mexico.

She was bilingual and raised her four children before starting her career. She received her associate’s degree in accounting, bachelor's degree in business and was a certified nurse’s aide. 

Correa is survived by her husband, together 34 years, Martin; mother Ina Sharpe of Springfield; sons, Martin and Marcos Correa, both of Springfield; three daughters, Cristina Kingsley and her husband, Jesse, of Elkland; Cylea France and Daniel Davis of Springfield; and Mindy Letterman, of Springfield; nine grandchildren; brother John Sharpe and his wife, Sabrina and their children of Springfield. 

Correa was preceded in death by her son, Anthony; father John and sister April Bever, and her husband David, and their children. 

A visitation was from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, May 6, 2022, at the Williams Funeral Home in Marionville, with a funeral service following at noon in the funeral home chapel. Burial followed at the Marionville IOOF Cemetery.
