Marilyn (Starkey) Butts-Daniel

Marilyn (Starkey) Butts-Daniel, 78, was born June 2, 1944, to T.H. and Gracie Starkey. She entered eternal rest on June 2, 2022.  
    
Butts-Daniel will be remembered by many for her great talent as a chef and self-taught cake decorator. One of her greatest accomplishments was winning grand prize in a Wilton Cake decorating competition that included the United States and three foreign countries.  
    
Butts-Daniel is survived by her daughter Jennifer Upshaw and husband Andy; son Bradley Butts and wife Coreena; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Joyce Butts and many other family members and friends.
    
Butts-Daniel is preceded in death by her parents, son Michael Hudson, ex-husband and friend Clyde Butts, brother-in-law John Butts, granddaughter Mariah Wood, and grandson-in-law James Letterman.  
    
Services and internment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Johns Chapel in Ash Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses. Services under the direction of Birch Funeral Home.
