Mary Beth Foster

Mary Beth Foster, 74, of Battlefield, passed away Sept. 7, 2022, in Springfield, at Cox South Hospital. Foster was born in DuQuoin, Ill., to John Wesley Gibbs and Rosemary Reed Gibbs.
Foster graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in Poplar Bluff, in 1966 and attended Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, Ark. She then went on to work for South Western Bell Telephone, Southern Missouri Savings and Loan, and Municipal Utilities Billing office.
Foster married the love of her life, Henry Foster, on Nov. 9, 1968, and celebrated 53 wonderful years together. To this union were born two children, Lori Jo Wolper and John Reed Foster.
Foster’s parents, John and Rosemary Gibbs, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles preceded her in death.
Foster is survived by her husband, Henry, daughter, Lori (Foster) Wolper, son, John Reed Foster, sister, Becky Heffington, and grandchildren, Philip and Clara Wolper.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, at Christ Episcopal Church, 601 E. Walnut, Springfield.
A visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022 from 10-11 a.m. at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral Home, 110 Iron Bridge Road, Poplar Bluff. Services will begin at 11 a.m. and burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Poplar Bluff.
Memorial contributions may be given to Christ Episcopal Church Outreach Ministries, 601 E. Walnut, Springfield, Mo. 65806.
