Mary Frances Fees Rodgers was born Jan. 14, 1923, to Ted and Fay Fees, near Halltown. She died at her home, in Rogersville, with her children by her side.
Rodgers was named for her paternal grandmother, Mary Frances Mason Fees. She graduated from Roper High School and was a longtime member of New Hope Church, both located in the community where she grew up.
She married Bert Rodgers, July 18, 1941 and they had three daughters, Georgia Ann, Joyce Faye, and Mary Lou. Her second marriage, Sept. 21, 1961 was to Ralph Rodgers and they had a son, R.H. Both husbands preceded her in death. Two daughters and seven siblings also preceded her in death.
Rodgers is survived by a daughter, Joyce Kerr and husband Tom, of Springfield, and a son, R.H. Rodgers, of Rogersville; five grandsons; a granddaughter; son-in-law Jim Anhalt; eight great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Ira Fees of Republic; and many adoring nieces and nephews.
Private burial will be next to her daughter, Georgia Ann, at Kerr Cemetery. Later, a memorial and tribute to her life will be shared with others. In remembrance, a contribution in her name can be made to New Hope Church or Kerr Cemetery Perpetual Fund.
