NANCY SUE FORBIS

Nancy Sue Forbis, 79, of Republic died on Friday, Feb. 10. She was born March 16, 1943, in Pittsburgh, Kan. to William Fredrick and Rose Mardie Kiger.
She graduated from Springfield Central High School, Springfield, in 1961.
She married the love of her life, Ronnie “Joe” Forbis, on June 10, 1962. Forbis was a longtime floral designer and manager at Republic Floral. During her retirement, she worked part-time at Heaven’s Scent, also in Republic.
She is survived by her son Steve and his wife Leslie; two granddaughters, and a great grandson; two nieces and a nephew who were more like siblings, Linda Thorne, Chuck Johnson and his wife Pat; and sister-in-law Becky Forbis, as well as a host of nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her father William Kiger, mother Mardie Kiger, sister Rose Kiger, brother Fred Kiger, and brother-in-law Glen Forbis; her husband Joe Forbis, and special friend Bud Doke.
A celebration of life will be planned for later this spring.
