Nethaline Hope Nothnagel

Nethaline Hope Nothnagel, 95, of Willard, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2021, in the Willard Care Facility, with her son and daughter-in-law by her side.
She was born on March 11, 1926.
Nothnagel was the daughter of Leo and Ellanora Hurrle. She grew up on the family farm near Fairhaven, Minn. where she enjoyed milking the cows and working in the cornfields with Prince and Barnham, their draft horses. She attended school in Kimbell, Minn., where she graduated as class valedictorian.
After graduating she worked as a bank teller and as an auctioneer’s assistant.
On May 29, 1946, she married Ervin Nothnagel at St. Mary Help of Christians Church and together they shared 55 years together. To this union they had four sons and two daughters.
While raising her family, she was able to pursue various career fields including seamstress work, computer data entry, and librarian management positions in two colleges.
Between her early years in Minnesota and her later years in Missouri, she also lived in the states of South Dakota, North Dakota, and Alaska.
In 1998, she and Ervin moved to Willard, where she enjoyed gardening and watching over the local wildlife that visited her yard every day.
Nothnagel was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin and her son James, her parents, Leo and Ellanora, three sisters, Joan, Ora Rose, and Rhea, and one brother, Elwood.
Nothnagel is survived by her children: Ervin (Sissy) Nothnagel, Paradise, Texas; Monica (Phil) Jungbluth, St. Joseph; Nelda (Ron) Skidmore, Carlton, Ore.; Joseph (Judy) Nothnagel, Woodstock, Ill; Norm (Janet) Nothnagel, Willard; seven grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Francis (Marilyn) Hurrle, St. Augusta, Minn., and Larry (Carol) Hurrle, St. Cloud, Minn., sister-in-law Delores Spaude, Baxter, Minn. and several nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family who loved her dearly.
A celebration service will be held in Minnesota with family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Preferred Hospice, 5340 North Towne Center Drive, Ozark, MO 65721.
