Noah Chaney Jr.

Noah Chaney Jr. of Republic, MO went home to be with his Lord on August 04, 2022, at the age of 92. He was born in rural Barry County, MO on December 19, 1929, to Noah and Dola (Sweringen) Chaney. Noah was one of seven children in the home.
He married Jay Curtin in 1948, and they continued on with the tradition, and were blessed with seven children, Danny, Ronnie, Eddie, Terry, Eydie, Darryl and Renee. Noah worked for many-many years as a lineman for Union Electric until his retirement. He was a member of United Pentecostal Church in Republic. Noah had a fun loving and ornery spirit to him, having ridden a horse straight through the LeAnn Schoolhouse. This schoolhouse had special meaning for Noah, as he held many get togethers, over the years, there. He loved his big family and whenever they were all able to get together and share fellowship and time together, this was his ultimate joy. He even built a trailer so that he could take his family on a trip to Banff, Canada. Noah also enjoyed playing Penuckle and Kings in the Corner, and many other card games.
Noah is preceded in death by his parents, two sons Ronnie and Darryl, a grandson J.J. Willman and five siblings.
Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife of 74 years, Jay, children Dan (Sandy) Chaney, Eddie (Shelley) Chaney, Terry (Lodessa) Chaney, Eydie (Kelly) Wallander and Renee Chaney and her significant other Derek Gillis, one sister Susan Fare and many great, great grand and even great greatgrandchildren as well as other extended family and countless friends.
A Celebration of Noah’s life is being planned at the LeAnn Schoolhouse within the next few weeks.
