Much more hospitable than the mud bath was the foam bath enjoyed by participants.

Nearly 1,000 runners (991 to be exact) turned out for the ninth annual got Mud? Run last Saturday at Brookline Park hosted by the Republic Parks and Recreation Department.
This was the second largest turnout in the history of the muddied obstacle course event, which set a record in 2019 with 1,025 participants. COVID impacted the numbers since then, but attendance is strongly on the rebound.
Mud runners came from more than 60 cities and five states, aged from 4-73 years old, said Jennafer Mayfield, assistant parks and recreation director for Republic.

“We’re incredibly grateful to all those who participated in the event, to our many volunteers, and to our sponsors,” Mayfield said. “This is a truly unique event that brings youth, adults, friends and families together to complete this muddy, messy and challenging course. We look forward to bringing back this memorable experience in 2024!”
