Patricia Kay Tharp Plyler

Patricia Kay Tharp Plyler, 60, passed away unexpectedly following a heart attack Oct. 8, 2018. She was born Jan. 4, 1958, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Betty Jeffery and Wayne Tharp.

A graduate of Ash Grove High School in 1976, Plyler spent most of her childhood in Missouri. An avid reader and aspiring poet, she received a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri.

Plyler became a lieutenant in the U.S. Army and graduated from the Defense Language Institute. While stationed in Germany, she met her husband, Robert Plyler. She led a fulfilling life traveling the world, attending theater, swimming and playing games with her family.

Plyler was preceded in death by her mother; father; sisters, Jean Tharp and Deborah Burks; and mother-in-law Peg Plyler. She left behind beloved friends and family, including her husband of 36 years, Robert Plyler Jr.; father-in-law, Robert Plyler Sr.; daughter, Jennifer Miller and husband, Tony; daughter, Julie Hull and husband, Ricky; seven grandchildren; brothers, Daniel, Jeff, and Alan Tharp and wife, Karen; sister-in-law, Tamra Plyler-Flick and husband, Jeff; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Saturday, Oct. 13, at Kahler Dolce Mortuary of Papillion, Neb. Memorial contributions can be made to Papillion-La Vista Community Theatre or Duplication Cares.
