Patricia Ruth Utke

Patricia Ruth Utke, 77, passed away Jan. 11, 2020 in Springfield, surrounded by her family. She was born April 16, 1942 in Springfield, to Lee and Helen (Burgess) Coonis. She was raised on a dairy farm at the edge of Springfield. She attended and graduated from Rogersville High School.
Utke was attending SMSU when one fateful night at the Fisher High Boy on the corner of Sunshine and Glenstone; she would meet her future husband. On Sept. 20, 1963, she married William (Bill) R. Utke, and they began building their life together, settling on a farm south of Billings. They were blessed with 56 years of love and happiness, which included three children, a respected herd of beef cattle, a couple of good horses, and several good dogs.
Pat worked “in town” at various jobs but is likely most remembered for her years as a bus driver in the Billings and Marionville school districts.

Utke was preceded in death by her parents, two broth- ers Gary and Bill, and two sisters Bobbi and Ginnie.
She is survived by her husband Bill, of the home, her two sons; Ronny (Tammy), Aurora, and Robert (Robin), Billings; her daughter Ronda Utke Billings; her grandsons Cordell Utke and Laythen Utke, Aurora; her granddaughters Payton Stringer and Kennedy Stringer, Springfield; her brother, Jim (Linda) Coonis, Catoosa, Okla.; multiple cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and a large, loving extended family of relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 4-7 pm on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020 in Meadors Funeral Home, Billings Chapel, with services on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, beginning at 10 a.m., also in Meadors Funeral Home, Billings Chapel. Burial immediately followed the service and took place in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Billings.
