Paul M. Williams

Paul M. Williams, 78, of Republic, formally of Wood- stock, Conn., passed away Feb. 1, 2019, in Springfield. He was born in Putnam, Conn., March 24, 1940, to the late Napoleon and Lillian (Gosselin) Williams.
He was the loving husband of Sydnie Ann (Willits) Williams.
Williams worked for the state of Connecticut and retired in 1995 after 30 years of service. Williams was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, having worked with both Troop 21 of Putnam Conn. and Troop 27 of Woodstock Conn.
For many years, Williams was a member and officer with the Wood- stock Volunteer Fire Association, Station 76, and more recently the West Republic Fire Protection District and the Brookline Fire Protection District, in Missouri.
Williams is survived by: his wife of 53 years; son, James (Helen) Williams of Emporia, Kan.; daughter, Sydnie (Ken) of Brookline; three grandchildren;
Williams was predeceased by his parents and sister Jane C. Flynn of Putnam, Conn.
The family will hold a celebration of life that will take place May 25, 2019, with further details final- ized later.
