Pirate baseballers knock off Sarcoxie, drop last two games of week

The Ash Grove High School baseball and softball teams had a rough week, as the Pirates only won one game and the Lady Pirates lost all three games they played last week.
In baseball, Ash Grove was no hit by the visiting Rogersville Wildcats on March 28 and lost the game
16-0 in four innings. Rogersville scored two
runs in the first inning; four runs in the third inning and 10 runs in the fourth inning to put the game away. Only Draven Zeigler was able to keep Rogersville from getting a perfect game as he walked in the contest.
The Pirates hosted Mansfield on March 26, but came away with a 6-4 loss.
Zeigler was 2-3 with a double, a run scored and two RBI and Dalton Carr went 2-3 with an RBI.
Ash Grove started the week off right by knocking off visiting Sarcoxie, 8-5.
Zeigler went 3-4 with a double, a run scored and three RBI; Carr was 2-3 with a run scored and an RBI, Ben Medlin went 1-2 with a run scored and two RBI
and Cody Raney finished the game 1-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI.
Softball
In softball, the Lady Pirates hosted Sarcoxie on March 28, but lost 11-0. Ash Grove traveled to Fair Grove on March 26 but lost 15-0 and the Lady Pirates fell at Mt. Vernon, 6-5 on March 25.
