Republic girls soccer avenges Jeff City loss during 2-2 week

The Republic soccer team avenged one of its earlier losses on a road trip to Jef- ferson City, beating the Lady Jays on penalty kicks after 100 minutes of scoreless play. The Lady Tigers out- scored Jefferson City 5-4
during penalty kicks, with goalkeeper Bella Drennan making the game-winning save and Jessica Monte- negro scoring the game- winning goal. Republic had lost to Jefferson City earlier in the season.
The win against the Lady Jays came in the opener of a two-game tournament appearance for Republic. The Lady Tigers lost to Cape Girardeau Notre Dame in their second game of the day, 6-0.
Earlier in the week, Republic had lost at Willard 4-2 in their worst defensive performance of the season. They rebounded with a 2–0 win over Joplin at home.
Republic wrapped up its week with a 13-5 record.
