Republic knocks off Ozark at Blue and Gold

Republic finished third in the Gold Division at the Blue & Gold Tournament by beating Ozark 59-50. Republic held Ozark to just seven points in the first 10 minutes.
Tim Brown praised his players’ defensive effort after the win.
“We just wanted to be
solid. They’re a team that has a lot of rhythm and flow to their offense. They do a really good job of screening and curling, getting back cuts, and we wanted to try to eliminate those,” he said. “We wanted to try to push them out on the floor and make them shoot pe- rimeter jump shots.”
Race Looney scored 23 points to lead Republic. Drew McMillin had 15 points and Ahlante Askew added 10.
