Republic rewrites records at sectional meet

The 4x800m relay team of Kristin Probst, Gracie Troester, Gracie Woods, and Cali Thompson set a new school record Saturday.
When Gracie Troester (foreground) and Kristin Probst both qualified for state in the 800m run, it was thought to be the first time Republic had ever qualified two girls in the same race.
Republic broke five school records and qualified 11 athletes for state at the Class 5 sectional track meet in Springfield, Saturday. In all, Republic will be competing in 13 events at the state meet in Jefferson City this weekend.
Gracie Troester qualified in four events, while Alaina Norman and Kristin Probst each qualified in three events to lead the way for Republic. Troester and Probst both qualified in the same event, the 800m run, in what is thought to be the first time Republic has qualified two girls to the state meet in the same race.
Jenna Belcher won two events and set school records in both the long jump and the triple jump. Zion Allen also qualified in two events: the long jump and the high jump.
In addition to Belcher's records, Republic set records in the 4x400 and 4x800 relays and the 800m run.

5. Jenna Belcher (2 events) - Girls Long Jump (3rd place, 5.45m) - Girls Triple Jump (3rd place, 11.49m)
