Republic tennis registers Senior Night sweep against visiting conference rival Webb City

Republic tennis recognized its four seniors, then swept conference rival Webb City 9-0. The win improved Republic’s record to 7-3 overall and 7-1 in conference play.
The Lady Tigers started the evening by recognizing four seniors – Sylvia Haley, Carly McAtee, Hannah Morgan and Katie Stiles. Three of them (McAtee, Morgan and Stiles) played four years of tennis, and in those four years, the Lady Tigers compiled a 42-10 record through Thursday’s match. The seniors also helped last year’s team win the Nixa Tournament for the first time in Republic history.
Republic made it back-to-back Nixa Tournament championships later in the week. Carly McAtee and Hannah Morgan teamed to win the top doubles bracket, finishing with an 8-4 win against Webb City. Katie Stiles swept the #2 singles bracket, winning all of her matches. In the #1 singles bracket, Elsie Crawford advanced to the finals before finishing as the runner-up. In the #2 doubles flight, Abby Crawford and Sedalia Shumaker finished second.
