Republic tennis starts 2-1 with impressive sweeps

The Republic tennis team grabbed two conference wins to start its season before suffering a non-conference loss in its home opener. The Lady Tigers beat Neosho and Carl Junction, then lost to Springfield Central. At Neosho, the Lady Tigers swept to a 9-0 victory. They lost only five total games in their three doubles matches to start the evening.

Playing Carl Junction in Joplin, Republic again swept doubles play. The Lady Tigers won four of the six singles matches to close out the win. Hannah Morgan won her singles match 8-0, and it marked the second straight meet in which she posted a perfect singles win.
