Republic volleyball falls at Carthage

A slow start and a rough finish overshadowed a great second set for Republic volleyball in a 16-25, 25-17, 12-25 loss at Carthage.
“We have to be ready to go – that first serve receive or the first set,” she said. “We cannot have a first set to get a warm-up.”
In the second set, with the score tied 10-10, Republic pulled away by winning 15 of the last 22 points.
“They wanted it and you could tell their excitement and their enthusiasm,” Davis said.
Inconsistency in the third set cost Republic. “Either our passing was on and our hitting was off, or our hitting was on and our passing was off,” said Davis. “[We need to] find that consistency and be a team that can finish.”
